Always go by head circumference if you can measure it. The age ranges are just a guide, but babies come in all sizes. Check their sizing chart on the product page.

The Mimos pillow is good too, but the Tortle is more active repositioning since it guides their head. I think the Tortle is better for preventing issues if your baby already favors one side.

hey, is the tortle air actually good for flat spots already there or is it just for prevention? my baby has a mild one and i'm wondering if this would even help.

From what I understand, it's more for prevention and very mild cases. If it's already a noticeable flat spot, they usually recommend a helmet. But it's FDA cleared so probably worth a shot for mild ones.

i used the lucky elephant one for my niece when she was tiny, it seemed to help prevent it from getting worse when she favored one side, but yeah, def talk to your pediatrician if it's already there.
